Frequently Asked Questions

When is the application deadline?

The application deadline is May 31 for fall/winter semester and October 31 for the spring/summer semester. Please note we will only process complete applications. We gladly accept early applications.

What happens after I submit my complete application?

Within two weeks after receiving your complete application, we will start reviewing your documents. You will receive an email from us should there be a problem with your application or in case we have any questions. Once your application has been approved, we will sign your Learning Agreement and issue an official Acceptance Letter. Both documents will be scanned and emailed to you. We will also mail the originals to the International Office of your home university. Should you require a study visa for Germany, we will additionally send a “Zulassungsbescheid” which you will need for the visa process.

Do I need a visa for my stay in Berlin?

Citizens of the European Union, of EEA states or of Switzerland: You may enter Germany and study here without a visa.

Non-citizens of the European Union, of EEA states or of Switzerland: You must apply for an entry visa for study purposes at the German Embassy in your home country BEFORE you come to Germany.

Please contact the German Embassy in your home country to find out whether or not you need a visa. They will also be able to inform you about the visa application process, rules and regulations as well as all other related information. Keep in mind that visa applications usually take several weeks or even months to complete so the earlier you apply the better.

For further information, you may take a look at our Visa Services page.

What are the language requirements for studying at SRH Berlin?

At SRH Hochschule Berlin, you may attend classes in English or in German, depending on the program. In order to follow classes and be able to pass the exams, it is absolutely crucial that your language skills are at a very advanced level. The lower your language skills are, the more challenging the classes will be and the more difficult it will be for you to pass the classes. We expect your English/German language level to be at least B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
