Fields of research

Within the scope of the common research cluster “Analysis of dynamic processes and structural change in business and society” there are five major areas of research. By means of cooperation between universities, research institutes and companies a mutual transfer of knowledge is constantly promoted in addition to the development and expansion of a network of science, business and society.

I. Healthcare Management

The area of research Healthcare Management examines processes in Health Economics and offers interdisciplinary solutions.

Issues of Information Systems Management are the foci of the Institute for Business Informatics which examines dynamic changes resulting from the development of information systems. The aim is to tailor the use of modern information systems.

III. Strategic Management (Dynamics in Enterprise)

The area of research Strategic Management analyses processes of change specifically in business context. The short-, medium-and long-term effects and possible reactions are considered from exogenous change as well as the development of application-oriented solutions.

IV. Diversity Management & Business Psychology

The area of research Diversity Management & Business Psychology is the focus of the Silver Workers Research Instituts (SWRI) which analyses the economic impact of demographic change. The research focus is the interface between economics and psychology. In addition to the main topics of recruitment, motivation and extended working life, another focus of the institute is the analysis of communication behaviour in various teams from a psychological perspective. Furthermore, management processes as well as the antecedents and consequences of psychological empowerment in organisations are explored.

28 October 2016: Prof. Dr. D. Hagen gives a presentation on “Matchmaking - Innovative approaches for emotionalizing interaction formats in the meeting industry" at the 8th conference on event research at the TU-Chemnitz. The conference proceedings will be published by Springer Gabler Verlag.

23 November 2016: Prof. Dr. Christina Stecker will be keynote speaker at a conference on the future of work. The conference is organized by the IAA (Institut für Arbeitsforschung und Arbeitspolitik) at the LIMAK Austrian Business School in Linz (Austria).
