SRH Grenke Entrepreneurship Convention: Presenting innovative business ideas
SRH Hochschule Berlin celebrates its founders and awards a prize for the best business idea
On Monday, 3 December 2018 the first SRH Grenke Entrepreneurship Convention took place at the SRH Start-up Lab Berlin.
The event was opened and hosted by Prof. Dr. André Presse, Head of the Grenke Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies. Apart from welcome notes by Prof. Dr. Victoria Büsch, President of SRH Hochschule Berlin, and Wolfgang Grenke, Honorary Senator and benefactor of the Grenke Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, the guests had the pleasure to listen to Entrepreneurship-related keynotes by Soeren Soetebeer, founder of nucaria, as well as Jesse Hartinger and Dr. Bernd Ruppert who work for the Buiness Angels Club Berlin-Brandenburg e. V. .
During the "Get to know our start-ups" tour the invitees also had the opportunity to meet different founders, start-up and projects of SRH Hochschule Berlin. The round tables were:
Table 2 (students of the Master's programme Entrepreneurship): Amirali Afshar and Tino Schmutzler (Berlin Startup School)
Table 3 (alumnus of the Master's programme Entrepreneurship): Arda Erzin (InnHof)
Table 4 (alumnus of the Master's programme Entrepreneurship): Gernot Stöcker (WhatAGame)
Tisch 5 (students of the Master's programme International Management): Company Project "Introduction of battery-swap-technology in the German taxi market"
Another highlight of the event was the award ceremony of the "SRH Grenke Entrepreneurship Award", a prize for students and alumni of SRH Hochschule Berlin that is worth € 500.
Prof. Dr. Dirk Hagen and students of the German Internationales Tourismus- und Eventmanagement programme analysed all applications and chose the three finalists who were presented on stage:
- Ana Fortunat - Manao Design,
- Colin Garbutt – Gap Years,
- Diego Straube – Testaflix
Beating the strong competition, Diego Straube won the entrepreneurship award with his project "Testaflix", a language-learning app that is based on Netflix content.
