André Presse is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Head of the Grenke Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (in foundation) at SRH Hochschule Berlin. Prior to joining SRH he was Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship, Technology Management and Innovation at the University of Bolzano and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Systems Design Engineering at Waterloo University.

He received his PhD degree from the Department of Economics and Business Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) under the supervision of Prof. Götz W. Werner, Interdisciplinary Institute of Entrepreneurship at the Department of Computer Science, and Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Wolfgang Eichhorn, Institute of Economic Policy and Operations Research. André holds an MBA from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL).

Before joining the University of Bolzano, André established a Technology Transfer Unit at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, where he successfully raised 2 mio. EUR for the unit. Prior to that, André was Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Entrepreneurship, Technology Management and Innovation (EnTechnon) at KIT and Visiting Scholar at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI) at Yale University, USA.

His research interests comprise selected aspects of Entrepreneurial Technology Management including (1) the entrepreneurial mindset (technology disposition and creativity), (2) organisational aspects (technology-based new ventures, family business, new product development and venture capital) and (3) economic policies for entrepreneurial venture creation (taxation & entrepreneurial negative taxation (i. e. basic income), monetarypolicy, resource policy, entrepreneurial society).

Prior to his academic career, André served as Chief Economist for GLS Bank in Bochum and held several positions at Kemper Financial Services (Deutsche Bank Group), AUDI AG and Commerzbank AG. As an entrepreneur, he has established KSL Sp. z. o. O. (acquired by Universal SA) in Cracow, Poland, and consecutively held several entrepreneurial (business angel) and non-entrepreneurial positions at Pan Media Corporation (acquired by Shanghai Media Group), Generic Oil (renewable energies) and StrategixGmbH (consulting).

André is a reviewer for several international journals and conferences such as Gründungsforschungsforum, leading in German-speaking countries, and the American Academy of Management (AOM) as well as author, contributor and editor of several books.
